Madrid, June 1st 2016- The Farmaindustria Foundation has made public today the call for the II edition of the Somos Pacientes Awards, which aims at recognizing the value of the activities and projects set up by patients’ associations and other public or private institutions aimed at offering quality services to patients, persons with disabilities, family members and caretakers; with special attention to initiatives linked to innovation in the environments of new technologies and communication tools.
These awards are distributed in two categories. The first, called “Pacientes” (Patients), is aimed at entities which represent patients, people with disabilities, family members and caretakers. The prize awarded will be 3,000 € cash and a commemorative trophy for the best initiatives and projects directly undertaken by these collectives in five categories:
1) web or app development;
2) campaign or initiative in the field of social networks;
3) patient services initiatives;
4) society awareness or fostering research initiative;
5) favorite initiative voted online by the www.somospacientes.com platform, amongst the finalist of the four preceding categories
All organizations registered in www.somospacientes.com are allowed to present their proposals.
The second category, called “Sociedad” (Society), recognizes, through a commemorative trophy, the work carried out by public or private institutions who have undertaken initiatives or services provision projects to patients, persons with disabilities, caretakers or family members.
Candidate projects to be sent by e-mail
To be granted these awards, the jury wll evaluate the initiatives and projects undertaken or started between June 1st 2015 and May 31st 2016. You can present the proposals from June 1st through till August 31st. Candidate projects will have to be presented in electronic format and sent to premios@somospacientes.com, indicating ‘Premios Somos Pacientes 2016’ in the subject.
The Somos Pacientes Awards are a part of the intense activity that Farmaindustria has been developing for more than a decade with its relationship with patients’ associations, persons with disabilities, family members and caretakers. These initiatives group together the online community www.somospacientes.com, which unites more than 1,600 entities in this field, offering a shared space of information, participation, education, services and collaborative work.
Last year, Somos Pacientes received more than 150 candidate projects for the first edition of these awards, which generated a great deal of expectation in the patients’ association and persons with disabilities networks in Spain, achieving a total of more than 8,000 votes from web users when choosing their favorite project.
In its second edition, the winners of the Awards will be disclosed during the official ceremony, which will be celebrated in the last quarter of this year within the context of the IV Somos Pacientes Day.
